An 18-year-old lady named Adwo, has been allegedly killed by her lover, Kwaku Siaw, at Nkawkaw Krofofrom in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern region.
The suspect, a 24-year-old ‘pragyia’ (tricycle) rider, who is on the run, allegedly beheaded the lover.
Parents of the suspect tells Onua News’ Yaa Yeboah Boamah that their son and the deceased have been living as lovers with two kids.
However, they don’t know what caused the rift between them, leading to the killing of the young lady by their son.
“They have been fighting always. But there was no sign of grudges between them yesterday,” said the suspect’s father.
Siaw’s mother also noted that “I was about going to the farm because my husband had taken the lead. So my son brought the youngest of the kids and asked me to carry her. Then I asked him the whereabouts of her mother, Adwo, and he said she had visited her mother. But after waiting for a while without any sign of her, I decided to check why she has delayed so I could go to the farm only to go there and see she has been killed.”
The mother added that she didn’t know of any issues between the young lovers and cannot tell what caused the issue.
Some residents who spoke with our reporter noted that they have seen the couple living in peace and can’t tell what actually caused the misunderstanding.
“This is a new town. We were home when we heard that a pragyia ridder had killed his wife and truly we came to confirm that he has beheaded her,” said a neighbour.
Meanwhile, the police had deposited the remains of the deceased at the Holy Family mortuary pending investigations.
