57-year-old Gideon Tetteh has been arrested by the Awutu Ofaakor District Police Command for allegedly killing his wife at Awutu Makomeda in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.

According to Onua News’ Nana Yaw Asare, the wife had intended divorcing the husband because he was not providing money for the upkeep of the family.

The couple had five children.

Due to some misunderstanding between them, they had separated and staying apart.

The woman was staying at Awutu Makomeda with her five kids in a single room she had constructed on a quarter plot she purchased.

Gideon, the husband, is staying at Agona Swedru.

Nana Yaw reports further that, the man called the wife Monday saying he had missed his kids and wanted to see them.

Upon arrival, he asked to have sexual intercourse with the wife who objected.

Gideon pleaded until the wife obliged on condition of using a condom.

But, Mr. Tetteh forced his way without the protection the wife demanded.

Gideon murdered the wife after having sex with her.

Some relatives who spoke with Onua News noted Gideon had threatened to kill the wife for solely possessing the piece of land they both toiled for.

Meanwhile, the deceased had been taking care of the children all by herself according to reports.

The Awutu Ofaakor Police Commander, DSP Samuel Amfoh has indicated the suspect would be sent to court Wednesday, August 17, 2022.
