The incoming Eastern Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prince Henry, has called on newly elected constituency executives in the Eastern Region to prioritize peace, unity and collaboration to strengthen the party’s chances of winning more parliamentary seats in the 2028 general elections.
Mr Henry stressed that unity among party members and executives would be critical to the NDC’s electoral fortunes in the region, warning that internal divisions could undermine efforts to expand the party’s parliamentary representation.
He made the remarks following the election of constituency executives who are expected to lead the party’s affairs at the constituency level for the next four years.
According to him, the newly elected executives have a significant responsibility to bring members together, strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and work collectively towards achieving the NDC’s political objectives in the Eastern Region.
Mr Henry noted that winning more parliamentary seats in the region would require a united front, effective communication and sustained cooperation among constituency executives, branch members and other party stakeholders.
He urged the executives to put aside personal differences, avoid unnecessary internal conflicts and focus on the collective interest of the party.
The incoming Regional Communications Officer further emphasized that peace and unity should remain the foundation of the party’s activities, particularly as the NDC begins preparations towards the 2028 general elections.
He indicated that a collaborative approach would help the party consolidate its support base, improve engagement with voters and position itself to compete more effectively in constituencies where it seeks to increase its parliamentary representation.
Mr Henry also encouraged the newly elected executives to demonstrate leadership, commitment and a strong sense of responsibility in the discharge of their duties throughout their four-year tenure.
He maintained that the party’s ability to achieve its electoral ambitions would depend largely on the willingness of its members to work together towards a common goal.
The Eastern Region remains an important political battleground, and the NDC’s efforts to increase its parliamentary representation in the area are expected to require strategic planning, effective grassroots mobilization and sustained engagement with constituents.
Mr Henry’s call for unity comes at a time when the newly elected constituency executives are preparing to assume their responsibilities, with attention expected to focus on strengthening party structures and building momentum ahead of the 2028 polls.
He urged all party faithful to support the new executives and contribute to building a peaceful, united and formidable NDC in the Eastern Region.
