A member of the New Patriotic Party in the Bolgatanga East Constituency is set to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament and former Deputy Attorney General, Dominic Ayine in 2024.

Reports indicate some constituents despite their different political affiliations are calling on him to represent them in Parliament.

Mathew Amoah, who has for the past years supported some constituents and reduced poverty in some communities as well as supporting the NPP with logistics is yet to officially declare his intentions to contest the seat.

Since the creation of Bolgatanga East Constituency in 2012, the NDC has won every parliamentary elections with Dominic Ayine as the MP.

However, this young NPP activist, Mathew Amoah, who has since demonstrated high level of development oriented traits with numerous projects and livelihood empowerment initiatives is currently posing a threat to the incumbent MP according to residents in Bolgatanga East District.

Mathew Amoah currently empowered some communities in the area with grinding machines for easy household chores.

At a ceremony to also hand over motorbikes to the party, Mr Amoah said the bikes will help members to work hard for the victory of the party in 2024.

“The motorbikes will ameliorate the plight of members in the execution of party work and significantly contribute to engaging the citizens of the constituency on government projects and programmes,” he urged members.

He sent a strong signal to the NDC that the failure of the MP is a sure bet for snatching the seat from them in 2024.

He emphasised “we are telling the NDC to sit up because we will give them a run for their money. If they have become rocks, the boys are in, and the party is back. They ( NDC) normally ride on us based on divisions, they will cause problems and we fight among ourselves but we remain united and there is no more camp A or B. NPP is the only camp we have.”

The constituency Chairman of the NPP, Asumbekere Karim Anagbila, said the party is united than ever to win the parliamentary seat for the first time in the constituency.

Electoral coordinators of the party present at the ceremony pledged their support in making the dreams of Matthew Amoah a reality.
