The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition at Nsawam-Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region.
The suspect, Abdul Rauf Salami, a native of Adoagyiri Zongo was arrested during intensified Police operations which targeted all points of
entry and exit of Adoagyiri.
The operations were part of a broader response to the recent violence and reprisal attack in the township that resulted in deaths.

Exhibits retrieved from the suspect include two pump-action guns with 64 rounds of AA ammunitions, a cutlass, a knife, and an ammunition vest.
The suspect is currently in Police custody assisting with investigations and is expected to be arraigned before the court to face justice.

The Police gave assurances that, “We would like to assure the public that we will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the safety and security of the Adoagyiri township. We therefore urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police,” the officer in charge assured.
