It’s been less than a week since the announcement by Communications Minister Sam George, promising Ghanaians more value for money.
However, latest responses from Frequently Asked Questions to DSTv Ghana, suggested a surprising contradiction.
According to Sam George, the new pricing plan which would provide subscribers with 33% to 50% more value, is a permanent package, subject to three monthly reviews by the committee.
But, the responses from DStv suggested that this was just a three-month promotion, and not a permanent arrangement.
While Sam George’s announcement seemed like a significant win for Ghanaians, the fine print suggested otherwise, leaving many wondering if this is just another marketing gimmick.
But just moments after these responses took social media by storm, DSTv released another statement.
This time, apologozing for the confusion caused by the FAQs published on their website.
According to them; the new value offering is effective October 1, 2025, and aligns with the joint media statement issued by the Communications Minister.
They further clarified that the committee would reconvene in three months to evaluate the impact of the new value offering, which will be a periodic exercise, and that all customers can enjoy the benefits without restrictions on their bouquet choices.
Will DSTv live up to its promises? Only time will tell.
