Ghanaian champions FC Samartex have qualified to the next round of qualifiers for the 2024/25 CAF Champions League.

The Timber Giants qualified after seeing off Cameroon’s Victoria United on Sunday, August 25.

A first-half strike by Isaac Afful was enough to give the Ghanaians a 1-0 win at the Accra Sports Stadium.

They had clinched a vital away win exactly a week ago when they beat the Cameroonians, popularly known as Opopo, at the Jakoma Sports Stadium in Douala.

By the win, FC Sax will face off with Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca for a place in the Champions League.

In their game, the Green Eagles saw off AS GNN of Niger 7-1 on aggregate.

The first leg, played in Niamey on Sunday, August 18, ended 2-1 in favour of the Moroccan visitors while the second leg at Stade El Abdi ended 5-0.

The first leg of the Samartex-Raja game will be played in Accra on Sunday, September 15 while the second leg is scheduled for Friday, September 20.
