World football-governing body, FIFA, has handed a six-month ban on the President of the Cameroonian Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o Fils, for violating some regulations.
The former Barcelona and Chelsea striker was handed the ban following his conduct in the September 11 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup game between Cameroon and Brazil.
The Cameroonian team lost 3-1 to Brazil after extra time in that game.
A statement from FIFA on Monday, September 30 said the ban extends to all matches involving teams representing Cameroon.
He is said to have violated Article 13 and Article 14 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.
“The ban issued against Mr. Eto’o will prevent him from attending men’s and women’s football matches involving teams representing FECAFOOT, in all categories and age groups,” the statement said.
“The decision was notified to Mr. Eto’o today, and the ban takes effect immediately.”
