Confusion erupted Tuesday morning outside the premises of the Cape Coast District Court 2 after the case involving the murder of Georgina Aso Botchwey, a prospective nursing student at Mankessim was adjourned.

Three persons are standing trial for the killing and burial of the young lady in one of the victim’s house, Nana Quansah Clarke.

A near scuffle begun when one person believed to be a relative of the third accused person, Jonathan Obeng, tried to attack a journalist from filming the accused persons when they were being escorted to a waiting vehicle to be sent back to police custody, and threatening the journalist as well.

This infuriated some family members of the deceased who also took the fight upon themselves and pounced on the person and turned the place into a chaotic scene.

It took the intervention of some members of the public present to calm tempers which gave the one who did the attack to flee.

According to them, the action of the relative of the third accused angered them and forced them to react that way while raining insults and curses on him.

Meanwhile, the court has adjourned the case to November 8 to allow prosecutors more time for investigation.

A brother of the deceased, Alfred Dodoo who is also the complainant of the case in an interview told OnuaOnline the family is still trying hard to recover from the shock and pain and is satisfied with proceedings of the case so far, but want justice to be served.
