‎The Suhum Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service has contained a fire outbreak involving a container at the Suhum Market.

The fire outbreak occurred in the early hours of Thursday, March 26. The Suhum Fire station received a distress call on Thursday and a six-member crew was immediately dispatched to the scene.

On arrival, firefighters found a container at the market entrance engulfed in flames. The crew immediately brought the fire under control within minutes and fully extinguished it.

‎According to the GNFS, preliminary investigations indicate that the fire was caused by the negligence of welders who left hot metal on wooden material after working on the container.

No casualties were recorded, though the container was partially damaged.
