President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku has lashed out at the current crop of Black Star players, saying they sometimes lack honesty, passion and desire to wear the national team jersey.
He cited how this played out in the 1-1 draw against Niger in the last international game.
For him, about four or five of the players who played in that game cannot command a first-team place in his club.
“You drew 1-1 against Niger. That was the scoreline. No joke. 1-1 against Niger. Four or five of the players who played in that squad, sorry, cannot play in my club. That is the truth,” he said.
To him, there was no passion nor energy on the part of the Ghanaian players in that game.
“It is not possible like this.
“The minimum I or Ghana expects is a team of boys or men who will show passion and desire to play for our country.”
The GFA President also lashed out at the players for the lack of passion, for instance, in the last game against Niger.
