Four persons are feared dead with others in critical condition after a sprinter Benz bus with registration number CR 577-21 collided with a Toyota Hiace (fish) with registration number GW 8690-22 at Buduatta Junction on the Accra – Mankessim Highway.

An eyewitness, Haruna Sanze said it took them a tireless effort to retrieve the trapped bodies from the mangled vehicles but took the security services forever to arrive, especially the National Ambulance Service who never showed up despite the numerous calls to their outfit.

“We had retrieved dead bodies from the damaged vehicles but the ambulance (National Ambulance Service) never answered our calls. It took the police a while to answer us and came over.

“Those of us gathered here are all motor riders. We retrieved the victims. We put off the vehicles’ engines.

“At least I counted four dead bodies. The pregnant woman was saved by God. Seeing a school boy with his limbs broken is really an eyesore. The woman too had her jaw ripped off,” Sanze narrated.

Meanwhile, driver of the Sprinter Benz bus, Freeman Yawokpo, suspects the Toyata Hiace might have been crossed by another vehicle to ram into theirs.

“I was heading towards Mankessim from Accra. So I saw the fish (Toyota Hiace) crashing into u7s. I don’t know if someone crossed him. I think one car went to buy petrol so when he was getting on the road, he didn’t check. People are injured. I even have a cut on my head. My car was not full. But I can’t even find my mate. Some of those in my car are injured but for death, I can’t tell,” he told Onua News’ Nana Yaw Asare.
