Over twelve thousand, three hundred and sixty-one (12,361) eligible voters are expected to vote on Thursday, December 5 across the special voting centres in the Eastern Region.

By 9:30am Wednesday morning officials for all 31 constituencies were dispatched from the Police Regional Headquarters in Koforidua.

Party agents were present to monitor the process and have their seals fixed to the ballot boxes.

The Eastern Regional Electoral Commission Director, John Appiah Baffoe says that all constituencies including Kwahu Afram plains North and South have been airlifted to them.

“We received our ballot papers today at 7:30am, all Constituencies have their ballot papers for tomorrow’s special voting exercise, we are ready, ” he stated.

He added “That of Kwahu Afram plains North and South have been airlifted directly to them. Ballots for special voting and that for the general elections.”

“The other 31 constituencies would receive their ballots for the general elections Thursday morning for distribution in readiness for Saturday’s elections,” he revealed.

The Special voting exercise for the Eastern Region was postponed from Monday to Thursday after the Electoral Commission announced a defaced ballot has been found in the wrong hands.
