Future Leaders Model United Nations, Ghana (FLMUN-Ghana) has secured a €10,000 grant from the Federal Republic of Germany, through the German Embassy in Ghana, under the Embassy’s Small-Scale Grants Scheme to implement a youth and women-focused climate entrepreneurship project in the Savannah Region.
The project, titled “Green Skills to Green Jobs: Ghana-Germany Youth & Women Climate Entrepreneurship Accelerator,” will be implemented by EcoGreen Oases Legacy in Salaga, East Gonja Municipality, with the aim of equipping young people and women with practical green entrepreneurship skills while promoting sustainable livelihoods and climate resilience.

On behalf of Future Leaders Model United Nations, Ghana, the agreement was signed by Prince Amadu Anuwar-Sadat, President & Country Director of FLMUN-Ghana. The signing was witnessed by Queen Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim, Founder of EcoGreen Oases Legacy, Director of Climate Action & Sustainability at FLMUN-Ghana and Winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2024, as well as Mrs. Anthoinet Ohene-Amoah, Director of Training & Talent Development at FLMUN-Ghana.
The three-month project will train 50 youth and women in climate-smart entrepreneurship, provide mentorship, facilitate the establishment of 15 micro green businesses, and promote innovative solutions in environmental sustainability and community-based green enterprise. The initiative is expected to contribute to job creation while supporting Ghana’s climate action agenda.
Speaking after the signing ceremony, Prince A. A. Sadat described the grant as a significant milestone in the organisation’s mission to empower young people through leadership, innovation and sustainable development.
“This grant is more than financial support; it is a vote of confidence in the capacity of young Ghanaians to drive climate solutions, create sustainable livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to national development. We are deeply grateful to the Government of Germany and the German Embassy in Ghana for believing in our vision.”
He noted that the award reflects the value of strategic international partnerships and the growing recognition of youth-led organisations that are delivering practical solutions to development challenges.
The latest partnership builds on an earlier diplomatic engagement between FLMUN-Ghana and the German Embassy. In February 2026, a delegation from the organisation paid a courtesy call on the German Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Frederik Landshöft, during which they discussed opportunities for youth empowerment, climate action and international cooperation. The delegation also presented the Ambassador with a specially handwoven Ghanaian smock, an event that attracted widespread public attention.
As part of the recent grant-signing ceremony, FLMUN-Ghana presented special handwoven Ghanaian smocks in the colours of the German national flag to H.E. Frederik Landshöft, Mrs. Sivine Jansen, and members of the Embassy staff as a symbol of appreciation for Germany’s longstanding partnership with Ghana and its continued investment in youth development and sustainable development initiatives. The presentation was received by Mrs. Jansen on behalf of the Ambassador, with support from Ms. Chantel Kristin Lahmer, Madam Zita Nana Assuah Akubah Adu, Economic Affairs Executive Assistant, and Ms. Hadjara Gouba, Foreign Climate Policy Advisor.
The project will be implemented through EcoGreen Oases Legacy, a youth-led organisation founded by Queen Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim, which focuses on climate action, environmental sustainability and youth empowerment. Through this collaboration, FLMUN-Ghana and EcoGreen Oases Legacy aim to equip participants with practical skills that will enable them to establish environmentally sustainable businesses while contributing to local economic development.
The organisations believe the initiative will serve as a model for integrating climate action with entrepreneurship and youth empowerment, particularly in underserved communities.
The grant represents another milestone in FLMUN-Ghana’s growing portfolio of international partnerships and reinforces its commitment to preparing young leaders to address global challenges through innovation, diplomacy and sustainable development.
