The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has scheduled its next meeting for Wednesday, November 20, barely a week after the Black Stars’ inability to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
According to a release on the website of the GFA, the meeting will discuss a number of key issues on the development of Ghana football.
“Topping the agenda for the meeting is the performance of the Black Stars,” it stressed.
The Black Stars failed to make it to the Nations Cup after a 1-1 draw against Angola on Friday.
It will be the first time in 20 years since the four-time African champions failed to make it to the continental showpiece.
Many critics have called for an overhaul of the country’s football to find a lasting solution to a problem said to have begun its wreckage at the 2021 AFCON.
The GFA, in its release on Monday, announced that a discussion will also be held at the Council meeting on a planned retreat on Ghana football.
“This retreat is anticipated to provide a platform for members and all stakeholders in Ghana Football to make insightful contributions to discussions aimed at enhancing the development of the game in Ghana.”
Updates from the various domestic competitions including the Ghana Premier League, the Women’s Premier League, the Division One League and the FA Cups for both men and women will be received.
The Council will also take briefings on the various nations teams aside the Black Stars.
“The meeting promises to be a productive one, with the ExCo members set to make key decisions that will shape the future of Ghana football,” it concludes.
