Ghana’s hopes of going farther in the 2024 Futsal African Cup of Nations were dashed when they lost badly to Angola 11-3 in their final group match, eliminating them from the competition.

They started the trip with a 5-2 loss to Zambia and an 8-3 loss to the host nation, Morocco.

Head coach of Ghana Futsal Philip Boakye acknowledged Angola’s dominance while also stressing the players’ growth from the match.

“Angola was the superior team. This, in my opinion, is our main argument, and we have thoroughly researched the only nations represented in this competition. We’re going to finish our homework at home.”

Morocco won the top spot in Group A, followed by Angola and Zambia in second and third place respectively.

Ghana finished their campaign with eight goals scored and 24 conceded over the course of three games, bottom of the group standings.
