The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana National Gas Company Limited, Judith Adjobah Blay, has concluded a working visit to the Western region, focusing on strengthening ties with key industrial gas off-takers and assessing critical energy infrastructure.

The tour, part of a broader initiative to align with the government’s 24-hour economy agenda and industrial transformation plan, saw Ms. Blay and her team visit three major ceramic manufacturing companies that rely heavily on natural gas for their production processes.

These visits served to understand their operational needs and reinforce Ghana Gas’s role as a reliable energy partner.

During her visit, the CEO held high-level discussions with management of Wangkang Ceramics, Twyford Ceramics, and Hwani Group Jintao Sanitary Ware Ghana Co. Ltd.

These companies are among Ghana Gas’s key industrial off-takers, using gas for industrial heating and power generation.

The engagements focused on enhancing cooperation and exploring ways to ensure a consistent and efficient gas supply to meet their production demands.

Ms. Blay reiterated Ghana Gas’s commitment to being more than just a supplier, but a dependable partner for industry, crucial for local manufacturing and job creation.

A key part of the visit was an inspection of the Takoradi Distribution Station (TDS) in the Shama Municipality, a key node in the gas transmission network.

The visit provided an opportunity to assess operational challenges firsthand and engage with site personnel.

Workers at the TDS raised concerns about logistical issues and welfare challenges they experienced and calling for renewed attention to staff well-being and equipment support.

In response, Ms. Blay and the top leadership assured staff of their commitment to restructuring for operational efficiency, focusing on the core mandate while enhancing the welfare of all employees.

This hands-on engagement is part of a broader strategy to maintain the integrity, safety, and stability of the nation’s energy supply chain, which is critical for both industrial and domestic needs.
