Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Andy Kwame Appiah-Kubi, believes the demise of former Deputy Finance Minister, John Ampontuah Kumah, is a big loss to the state.

According to him, the late MP’s contributions on the floor of Parliament together with his expertise which earned him the deputy Finance Minister role sets him apart in his own sphere, making him an asset that would be difficult to replace.

Speaking with Alfred Ocansey on TV3 Thursday, March 07, 2024, the Asante Akyem North lawmaker expressed his condolences to the family and loved ones, together with the NPP fraternity for losing such a gem.

“Even in Parliamentary debates, he was so eloquent and always to the point. So in all, it is Ghana that has lost a son that will be difficult to replace,” he noted.

Meanwhile, a former Member of Parliament for the Okaikwei North, Fuseini Issah, also described Mr. Kumah, as “everything at the age of 45.”

“John Kumah is everything at the age of 45. For somebody’s name to come up, in the last couple of weeks he has been one of the names mentioned as possible or potential running mate of our party going into the main election. For someone to go to that level at his age, it shows you the kind of person that he is,” he eulogised.

John Kumah left behind a wife and six children.
