Ghana marks its 69th Independence Day on Friday, March 6.  Ghana obtained independence on 6th March 1957.

This year’s anniversary is themed ‘Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope’.

The national parade will take place at Jubilee House, the seat of government.

Members of the diplomatic corps, the clergy, traditional leaders and other dignitaries are expected to participate in the event.

Commenting on this year’s event, Presidential Adviser and Special Aide to President John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, wrote on her X page that “As we commemorate #69 years of Independence: May God bless our Homeland Ghana and make our nation great and strong!

“May God help us to build prosperity and restore hope for all from the North, East, West and South of Ghana to Africa and beyond.

“May we each be a part of this great promise of the #Reset Ghana, led by President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang and the government and people of Ghana.”
