Ghana’s impressive outing in the last international break has seen the country move a step up in the April rankings released by football’s world-governing body, FIFA, on Thursday.
Ghana had stayed in the 77th position in two consecutive months but climbed to 76th after two wins in March.
The Black Stars dispatched Chad 5-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium before unsettling Madagascar 3-0 in Morocco in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers to amass a total 1,333 points.
Ghana dropped out of the Top 50 in May, 2021 and have since struggled to get back into that top position.
The 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists remain 14th on the African continent with Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria and La Cote d’Ivoire completing the Top 5.
Argentina are top of the global rankings with Spain, France, England and Brazil following in that order to form the world’s top 5 footballing nations.
