Ghana is set to reopen its diplomatic mission in Ireland as part of efforts to strengthen its diplomatic presence and deepen relations with the country.
Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, James Gyakye Quayson on September 23, 2026, held discussions with the Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps in Dublin and Morocco’s Ambassador to Ireland, Dr Lahcen Mahraoui ahead of the reopening of Ghana’s Mission in the country.
The meeting formed part of the Deputy Minister’s official working visit to Ireland. The discussion focused on matters of mutual interest, strengthening diplomatic relations and deepening cooperation among African diplomatic missions in Ireland.
The upcoming reopening of Ghana’s Mission is expected to provide a stronger platform for Ghana to advance its diplomatic and bilateral interests in Ireland.
The engagement with the African Diplomatic Corps also forms part of Ghana’s efforts to build stronger diplomatic partnerships and promote cooperation on shared interests.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry said the engagement underscores Ghana’s commitment to constructive dialogue, collaboration and stronger diplomatic relations.
