Ghana has secured 33,600 Mpox vaccines to complement efforts in the management of the disease outbreak in the country.

The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, made the announcement on his X page, highlighting the significance of the feat.

Health authorities had earlier noted that the vaccines, upon its arrival will be administered to the at-risk groups in the country.

As of August 20, 2025, Ghana has recorded confirmed cases of 424 Mpox with one death recorded.

Mpox continues to spread primarily through close contact with infected individuals hence, health officials are urging the public to take simple but effective precautions to limit the spread of the disease and report early to a health centre when sick.
