At Nyanyano in the Gomoa East district of the Central Region, a lady believed to be in her early 30 has contracted rabies and started behaving strangely.
Reports indicates she behaves like a dog and even barks like one.
The situation has left her family who cannot afford her medical bills worried.
Lamley, the affected lady, was on her way to the market when the dog bit her. But according to her aunt, she refused to tell anyone that she has been bitten by a dog.
The aunt says the incident occurred on Friday, April 26, 2024, but they got to know of it after she started barking like a dog.
Amaka, Lamley’s aunt, has been telling Onua News they had to rush her to the Mother and Child Hospital when she started barking and acting like a dog.
“She was going to town when the dog bit her but she didn’t say it. That was last week Friday. So the thing was taking over her system until her uncle administered a medication for her. It subsided a little until it resurfaced at night. We sent her to the hospital and they asked us to transfer her to another hospital but there is no money to cater for her bills,” she cried out.
