Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam has announced that the government has approved plans to reintroduce road and bridge tolls in 2025.

This announcement was made during the presentation of the mid-year fiscal policy for 2024 in Parliament on Tuesday.

“Mr. Speaker, Cabinet has granted approval for the disbursement of an additional 1.5 billion Ghana Cedis to settle outstanding claims relating to financial management companies and for the establishment of a framework for the reintroduction of road and bridge tolls in 2025,” he stated.

Dr. Amin Adam also mentioned that the government has approved “the operationalization of the integrated property tax system and the amendment of the Fiscal Responsibility Act to reinstate the numeric threshold that was suspended in 2020.”
