The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has called for strict accountability, patient safety and effective collaboration in the management of the newly commissioned Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on Thursday, July 9, 2026, Mr. Akandoh stressed that the long-term success of the facility would depend not only on the excitement surrounding its commissioning, but also on sustainable management and proper maintenance.

The Minister noted that the facility would require disciplined management, regular maintenance planning, a reliable supply of consumables, trained biomedical personnel, efficient scheduling and strong clinical governance to function effectively.
