Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare will play a little longer for Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak.
The 32-year-old player on Thursday, April 10 extended his contract with the Phobians to 2027.
Asare’s contract has come under the spotlight following his maiden call-up into the senior national men’s soccer team.
He was drafted into Otto Addo’s 23-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
Surprisingly, he was selected for both encounters ahead of Lawrence Ati-Zigi of St Gallen in Switzerland and Joseph Wollacott of Crawley Town in England.

Asare kept clean sheets in both games as the Black Stars scored a total of eight goals.
The in-form goalkeeper, however, had his contract with Hearts coming to an end, forcing him to sit out in the matches that followed his return to the Phobian fold.
On Sunday, he stepped out for the Phobians against Medeama SC at the Accra Sports Stadium, where he kept another clean sheet and named the Man of the Match.
