Some fans have blamed the recent poor form of Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak on spiritual causes.
After the side’s 0-2 loss to Heart of Lions at the Kpando Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 15, some fans told Onua Sports that management must look in the direction of the spirit.
After a strong pre-season preparations, which took the team to neighbouring Togo, Hearts are yet to win a match or even score in the 2024/25 League.
The Phobians lost 1-0 to debutants Basake Holy Stars in the season opener at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Fans stormed the car park of the Stadium to boo the departing team bus, which was carrying the players and the technical team.
Some called for the head of head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, who was appointed towards the end of last season.
Management, in a vote of confidence, however, assured the coach and playing body that of their utmost backing.
They urged the team to pick at least a point from Kpando.
Unfortunately, the team conceded in the final seven minutes of the game.
Speaking after the match, some fans said the team appears to be conceding in ascending order.
From 1-0 against Basake Holy Stars, they fell 2-0 to Heart of Lions.
“Then, it could be 3-0 if something is not done by management. We have the players but nothing seems to be working.”
Others blamed the center referee for the defeat, especially regarding the first goal.
“The GFA should help referees to help the game because this officiating is very bad.”
Hearts of Oak will return home to face Bechem United in their next encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium.
