Hearts of Oak returned to victory in the Ghana Premier League after shrugging off an early scare to beat Karela United 3-1 in a Matchday 26 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, April 13.

The visitors took the lead just in the 3rd minute through Dafie Mohammed to turn the pressure on coach Aboubakar Ouattara’s side.

But the Phobians managed to restore parity before the break with a goal from Hamza Issah.

Barely 20 minutes after the interval, Salim Adams put them ahead for the first time in the game just on the verge of ending a three-match losing streak.

And, indeed, the streak was ended as Issah doubled the lead from the spot in injury time to give the Rainbow family all three points.

The win sends Hearts of Oak to the 10th position with 35 points. Karela remain 14th on the log.

Hearts of Oak’s next fixture will be away to Legon Cities while the northerners host Accra Lions on Week 27.
