The Accra Circuit Court has ordered prosecutors to file disclosures and witness statements, which will be relied on in the case against Wontumi FM presenter Emmanuel Kwakye Asare.
The Kumasi-based journalist has been charged with offensive conduct and has pleaded not guilty to the charge of publication of false news with intent to cause fear and panic.
He’s currently on a 100,000 cedis bail.
When the case was called on Monday, September 1, the lawyer for the accused, Andy Appiah Kubi, notified the court that the case had been scheduled for mention but added that the prosecution had still not served them with the disclosures they would rely on in the case.
The judge hearing the matter then ordered the prosecution to within 7 days, file their witness statements and disclosures which they will rely on.
The case has since been adjourned to September 29 for case management conference.
