Black Stars striker Iñaki Williams has expressed hope of winning the La Liga African Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the third time next season.
The Ghanaian was named the winner of the award for the second time in a row on Monday, beating competition from 19 others including compatriot Abdul Mumin of Rayo Vallecano.

Reacting to the award, the center forward, who was on Monday also named Captain of Athletic Club, said the award indicates that he is doing things right.
“Winning an award like this means you are doing things right,” he said.
“I’m so happy and proud that I’ve won it two years in a row…hopefully, I can make it three.”
Iñaki, whose brother Nico plays for the Spanish national team, said the award is a real honour as the league is so special to many on the African continent.
“It’s a beautiful thing for young people across Africa, a continent where football has always been a big part of life, to be able to see their role models succeed,” he observed.
“I hope African players keep making a strong impact in La Liga because we’re all doing a great job.”
He talked about his club’s target of making an impact in the UEFA Champions League next season and staying in the competition at least for some time to come.
“We’ve had two great seasons and we’re not setting any limits for ourselves.
“We know that as we continue growing as a team, our performance is being recognized, and we hope that next season we can put together a good campaign in the Champions League.
“We want to fight to qualify again for the Champions League again. And of course the Copa del Rey too. That’s the dream of every Athletic fan: to see us play well and give a good account of ourselves.“
