Award-winning Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has offered fans a rare glimpse into how he navigates difficult moments behind the scenes and mentally prepares himself before stepping onto the stage.

Speaking in an interview with AJ Sarpong on 3Lounge on 3FM, May 11, 2026 monitored by entertainment journalist Joseph Owusu Worae, the reigning Telecel Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year revealed that humor, laughter, and spontaneity have become some of his most effective coping mechanisms during challenging moments.

When asked how he deals with emotionally difficult periods, the hitmaker responded with honesty and humor.

“I crack jokes and sometimes I bust moves and sometimes I shout. Yeah, I love shouting… at home, not outside,” he said jokingly.

“I do everything. And these days there is something I figured out not long ago – laughing a lot, cracking jokes and doing funny stuff before the stage really helps,” he added.

According to the celebrated musician, creating a relaxed and playful atmosphere before performances helps him release tension, ease anxiety, and mentally prepare him for the excitement and intensity of the stage.

Black Sherif was further asked about the ritual he performs before stepping in front of a crowd.

In response, he demonstrated his signature “brrrrr” expression, explaining that it helps loosen him up moments before a performance.

“Brrrrr… just to loosen up and get ready for the stage,” he shared. “One thing I learned very early is not to go on stage looking rigid. When you have fun, people have fun too.”
