Reigning Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year, Black Sherif, has said despite his meteoric rise and numerous accolades in the music industry, he still considers himself a student who is constantly learning, growing, and evolving.

Speaking in an interview with AJ Sarpong on 3Lounge on 3FM, Monday, May 11, the award-winning musician reflected on his journey, achievements, and the expectations that come with being one of Ghana’s biggest music exports.

Having won the prestigious Artiste of the Year award twice within a short period while delivering critically acclaimed projects that continue to resonate globally, Black Sherif was asked whether there is pressure to consistently outdo himself with every performance and release.

In response, the “Kwaku The Traveller” hitmaker explained that he does not view it as pressure, but rather as part of his artistic growth and evolution.

“I think it’s really not pressure. I wouldn’t call it pressure because if I was 21 and I won one, and at 24 I won another Artiste of the Year award, and I still feel like a fresh student… I still feel like I have not even intensified my trainings, my drills, the things I’m reading, the things I know. I feel like as time keeps going and as my poetry grows heavier, things will come. It’s not giving me pressure,” he said.

Black Sherif’s remarks painted the picture of an artiste whose hunger for greatness remains alive , a creative force still obsessed with growth, and pushing his artistry to even greater heights despite already conquering some of music’s biggest stages.
