A former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, Hilda Addo, has declared her support for Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen’s bid for the 2024 presidential election despite resigning from the NPP.

She says Mr. Kyerematen, prior to his resignation, was the best among the NPP aspirants to lead the country and will still support him even though he is not contesting on the ticket of the party.

Speaking in an interview with Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin on Ghanakoma morning show on Akoma 87.9fm in Kumasi, Madam Addo noted Alan Kyerematen’s absence from the NPP will let them know what his sort is.

“Though I am a member of the NPP, I will do open campaign for Alan,” she noted.

According to her, the time has come for all and sundry to come together and build the country that can bring effective development.

The former Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen in a shocking turn of events resigned from the NPP on September 25.

His resignation came as a shock to many as he recently emerged third in the NPP special delegates’ conference held on August 26 for its presidential aspirants.

Meanwhile, the former NPP MP for Kwadaso has blamed the leadership of the party for the exit of Alan.

She asserted that the teeming grassroots of the party preferred Alan to lead the party to the 2024 polls.

She is of the view that, the party has been making dangerous mistakes and that has resulted in the resignation of the Chairman of the Young Patriots of the NPP.

When asked about the possible consequences of her decision, she said, “I don’t care if leadership of the party expel me from the party.”
