Black Stars Head Coach Otto Addo says as a coach, he doesn’t dwell so much on calls for his dismissal.
He admitted that his job is always under threat to the extent that even when he qualified the team to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, many called for his sacking.
“My job is always under threat,” he shared at the press conference ahead of the Ghana-Germany friendly on Monday, March 30.
“Even when we qualified for the World Cup people were calling for me to step down, so it’s always under threat but if as a coach you think about these things, you will get caught up,” he added, stressing: “I don’t really care.”
He indicated that he will strive to do his best and get better at his job.
“For me the most important thing is that I prepare my best and I do the better for the team by helping the players to do their best on the pitch and that’s it.”
A former player and member of the history-making Black Stars squad to play at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Otto Addo guided the team to a second successive qualification for the 2026 edition.
However, recent results have not been favourable with the Black Stars winning only one out of their last five games against non-African opponents.
The team takes on Germany on Monday at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart after the embarrassing 5-1 loss to Austria on Friday.
