Black Stars striker Iñaki Williams is hopeful of being in contention for La Liga’s African Most Valuable Player (MVP) award next season.
This follows his crowning as the recipient of the award over the weekend.

The African MVP Award is given to the best African player in the Spanish La Liga for a season.
Iñaki Williams’ 46 points garnered was better than Morocco’s Brahim Diaz of Real Madrid (36) and his compatriot, Youssef En-Neysri of Sevilla (30).
Commenting after the award, the Athletic Bilbao forward said he hopes to be in contention again for the award next season.
“Thank you very much for the acknowledgment,” he remarked.
“It is an honour to represent all African players in La Liga.
“My roots in Ghana are as deep as my love for Bilbao and Athletic Club. I hope to be in contention for this same award next season.”
Williams, 29, has made 34 appearances for Bilbao this season and has netted 12 goals.
He helped the side to their first Copa del Rey title this year.
