John Dramani Mahama has made a juxtaposition of his administration with that of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government, indicating the economic indices he bequeathed the nation is far better than what exist now.

The flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says the exchange rate at the time he was leaving office compared to where it is today, shows how clueless the self-acclaimed economic messiahs are, when it comes to managing the economy.

Whilst speaking with residents of Kintampo at a mini rally during his tour to the Bono East region, John Mahama said the cost of fuel in his time compared to today, together with food availability and prices of cement among others clearly show the New Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot be trusted to administer the nation again.

“I John Dramani Mahama has led this nation before and at the time, there was peace, food and a dollar to the cedi was GHC4.00. But today you need 16 cedis to get a dollar. When I was in charge, with GHC14.00 you could get a gallon of petrol. But today with GHC14.00 you will get just a litre. When I was in charge of Ghana, a bag of cement was GHC26.00 but today, how much is cement sold at Kintampo here? 100 cedis?

“And after all these, they are telling us Ghanaians’ lives are better off today than when Mahama was President,” he stated.

He questioned the logic in the NPP’s quest to suggest how Ghanaians feel, contrary to the experiences being shared by the citizens themselves.

The former President says he can’t fathom why the citizens would say they are hungry for the NPP to call them liars because it has fed them.

He urged that people take a cue from what has happened and make that influence their choice in the December elections.

“It is our own stomach and we are saying we are hungry yet you claim we are full. How is that possible? When you are complaining of hunger in your own stomach, but the NPP will say you’ve eaten and gotten full. So, we need to learn from what we’ve been through,” he stated.

Don’t vote for a clueless mate who learnt how to drive from a driver ‘banza’ – Mahama to Ghanaians
