The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has reiterated his commitment to serving his people like he has done for the past 25 years.

In what appeared like a second swearing-in ceremony for the overlord of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo pledged to be faithful to his people till his Creator calls him to eternity.

During his 74th birthday Anniversary Monday, May 06, 2024, the Asantehene, at a Thanksgiving service at the St. Cyrian Anglican Church in Kumasi, expressed how he has diligently served his people for the past 25 years.

With so much confidence, the Asantehene noted that he has never, in his two and a half decade reign, been induced to adjudicate a matter for any of his subjects.

“For the 25 years, there is no single soul who can say take this to mediate my matter for me,” he noted.

For his remaining days on earth, the Asantehene prayed for God’s guidance and protection to help him consolidate the peace and unity of Asanteman and Ghana as a whole.

“In all these, I want God to help me for the remaining days ahead and all I need is progress, wisdom and unity from all of Ghana and Asanteman for progress. I will do my part and all of us have to also do our portion. One beautiful thing I saw today was the people I have never seen in years who are all here today.

“I promise to be faithful to you forever,” he stated.

The Asantehene also expressed his trust in God instead of man, the reason he requests the clergy to always remember him in prayer.

“I am grateful to the pastors from the Methodist, Catholic, Anglican and all the churches for their prayers. It suggests it is prayers alone that can do everything. I don’t rely on men. I don’t trust men and I don’t believe men can help me and that is why I always call on you to always pray for me,” he added.
