Actress and television host Nana Ama McBrown has disclosed that she does not intend to marry again.
The revelation comes after she publicly confirmed on TV3’s New Day on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, that she is divorced. McBrown also noted that celebrities who are able to sustain marriages while working in television and acting deserve to be celebrated.
“I will not marry again. I can give birth again, but I won’t marry again. I have been married for a good twelve years. We have to applaud celebrities in Ghana who are doing TV and acting and are still married.”
McBrown explained that she would only consider remarrying her former husband, whom she described as kind and respectful. However, she stated that marriage requires more than good behaviour.
“If I will marry again, it will be with him. If I am going to remarry another person, then I won’t. My ex-husband, Maxwell, is a nice person, but I wasn’t feeling the marriage. Maxwell never verbally abused me or beat me in the over twelve years that we were married. He is a gentleman, but marriage is more than that.”
Despite the divorce, McBrown revealed that she maintains a close and respectful relationship with her ex-husband, who continues to support her and help manage her affairs.

“I will never take my divorce issues to court. I am one of the few people who is divorced from her husband but still remains friends with him, and he still manages my stuff. I am also one of the few who still go to my marital home to cook for the family. I am an understanding person. It would be very difficult to be at loggerheads with a man who has helped and still pays my child’s school fees.”
McBrown also encouraged women to be financially independent, saying that while support from a man is beneficial, women should be able to stand on their own.
“I will encourage every woman to work and be independent without a man. It is good to have support from a man, but without it, you should be able to stand.”
