The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Agona West, Cynthia Mamle Morrison, has urged members of her constituency to vote for whoever they want in the December 07 presidential polls.
She says it is the interest of the constituency that should be paramount to the people, urging them to vote for whoever they wish between John Dramani Mahama and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Declaring her intentions to contest as independent candidate in the upcoming polls, the lawmaker said it is the interest of Agona that should be prioritised and whoever becomes President is not paramount.
“I am representing the Agona nation so if you belong to John Mahama and will vote for John Mahama, that is not my issue, if you are Bawumia and will vote for Bawumia, that is not my issue, it is the MP’s uncompleted work which is Cynthia Morrison that you should vote for, to complete it,” she told her constituents in one community.
Speaking about an ongoing project in a townhall engagement in one of the communities in her constituency, the former Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, disclosed her intentions to contest as independent.
She said the constituents believe in her and wants her back to complete the projects she has began in the constituency.
“I will inform Nana to invite us all for me to relay what I have to you. When I got here some of the women followed me to the school and they told me they have already began their campaign.
“If God permits, I will contest as independent to complete what I have started. When we are about commissioning the building, I will invite the entire community here and provide an explanation to you all to advise me because in such instances, it is not about the NDC or NPP,” she stated.
