The Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA), Prof. Ransford Edward Van Gyampo, has asked the public to disregard any form of publication on social media aimed at tarnishing his reputation.

He says the act is a means by some “faceless cowards” who have resolved to public false news and propaganda against his personality for what they claim is his alleged role in the December 2024 elections.

According to the Senior lecturer at the University of Ghana, his outfit has learnt that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has passed a resolution at their meeting that he (Gyampo) contributed to their electoral woes in the last elections, and publishing false news to tarnish his image is what they will resort to pay him back.

Speaking on the KeyPoints on TV3 Saturday, March 22, 2025, Prof. Gyampo indicated that the news making rounds that he has purchased a massaging chair and sacked people recruited to his office during the NPP’s era are all lies.

“I am told that within the circles of the NPP, a meeting was held and a resolution was passed that I, Ransford Gyampo, I am the one who caused their electoral defeat in the 2024 elections and so their response to me is that there should be several attacks and publications of bad news, false news and propaganda against me.

“So, you can see that over the last couple of days that there have been several senseless lies that have been peddled against me. None of these lies is true.

“Number one; I’ve not gone to buy any massaging chair, number two; I’ve not sacked any 30 people who were recruited between 2017 and 2023. I have not done any of these,” the Professor clarified.

He further assured Ghanaians of working to ensure businesses in the country flourish, rather than resorting to doing things that will question the confidence reposed in him by President Mahama and Ghanaians.

He also noted that he is smarter to do any of the things being attributed to him by the NPP just to tarnish his reputation.

“I cherish the confidence that President Mahama reposed in me and I cherish the confidence that a lot of teeming Ghanaians have in me and I assure them that I’m smarter than the naysayers.

“So, I’ll not do anything that will undermine the confidence that President Mahama reposed in me and I’ll not do anything that will make Ghanaians disappointed. So if you see these negative publications on social media about me, by default, know that it is coming from faceless cowards who are still bleeding,” he stated.
