Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA), Prof. Ransford Gyampo, has said he will not do anything to undermine the confidence reposed in him by President Mahama.
He has equally noted that a lot of Ghanaians have expressed confidence in him, and that, he will not indulge in things that will make him disappoint the teeming public that are looking up to him to deliver on his mandate.
His comments come on the back of what he describes as the falsity and propaganda being peddled by some “faceless cowards” to tarnish his image.
According to the Senior Political Science lecturer at the University of Ghana, the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has resolved to public bad news and propaganda to thwart his goodwill.
He explains that the party leadership has said he, Gyampo, was a major contributing factor to their electoral defeat in the December 2024 polls, and tarnishing his reputation is the payback they can give him to retribute themselves.
Speaking on the KeyPoints on TV3 Saturday, March 22, 2025, Prof. Gyampo averred that some persons employed to orchestrate the attacks began their lies on social media over the past week, spreading false news of him sacking people employed by the NPP to the GSA and purchasing a massaging chair.
He stated emphatically that those allegations are false and asked the public to disregard them.
“I am told that within the circles of the NPP, a meeting was held and a resolution was passed that I, Ransford Gyampo, I am the one who caused their electoral defeat in the 2024 elections and so their response to me is that there should be several attacks and publications of bad news, false news and propaganda against me.
“So, you can see that over the last couple of days that there have been several senseless lies that have been peddled against me. None of these lies is true. Number one; I’ve not gone to buy any massaging chair, number two; I’ve not sacked any 30 people who were recruited between 2017 and 2023. I have not done any of these.
“I cherish the confidence that President Mahama reposed in me and I cherish the confidence that a lot of teeming Ghanaians have in me and I assure them that I’m smarter than the naysayers so I’ll not do anything that will undermine the confidence that President Mahama reposed in me and I’ll not do anything that will make Ghanaians disappointed.
“So, if you see these negative publications on social media about me, by default, know that it is coming from faceless cowards who are still bleeding,” he explained.
