Independent presidential candidate, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, has promised the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, that he will never turn his back on Asanteman if he becomes President.
The founder of the Movement for Change who is now the presidential candidate for the Alliance for Revolutionary Change says there is none that can ascend the highest seat of the land without the support of the Ashanti region.
For that reason, he says one should not turn his back on Asanteman when gotten the opportunity to be President.
“There is none that can become President without the support of the Ashanti region. So you can’t forget Asanteman if you want to become President and I want to make a promise that we will never turn our back to Asanteman,” Alan Kyerematen stated.
He made the comments Wednesday, October 02, 2024, when he and his campaign team paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene as part of his tour to the region.
The team is on a tour to 350 communities in the 47 constituencies in the region beginning from October 02 to October 20.
During his speech, the Asantehene advised Alan Kyerematen to continue explaining his Great Transformational Plan (GTP) to Ghanaians, something he believes will resonate with them to give him their votes.
The Asantehene stated that Mr. Kyerematen already has his blessings and will continue to grant him his support to explain his message to Ghanaians for the will of God to prevail at the elections.
“Many of your colleagues have come for my blessings but what we all seek the betterment of Ghana. It is my prayer that whoever all Ghanaians think can help Ghana to progress is the one we should vote for to see how he will help Ghana to succeed.
“He (Alan Kyerematen) already has my blessings and I’ll continue to give it to him to go and continue explaining his vision to Ghanaians. However, it is God who chooses a king and it is God’s will that will prevail,” the Asantehene stated.
“Even though I have not read through the entire document he presented to me, but with the little I’ve read and the explanation he gave from his speech, if this is truly his vision for the country, then he will transform Ghana. Our prayer is that all the political parties and aspirants will see what is troubling the country so that they may devise solutions to them for us to have peace and progress,” he added.
