The playing body of Asante Kotoko has been given a mandate by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the life patron, to transform their dismal season into one worthy of the club’s status and heritage.

With seven games remaining in the Ghana Premier League, Asante Kotoko are yet to win same number of games in their last outings.

The players and technical team held talks with Otumfuo, on Thursday, April 18, to address their grievances and figure out what was causing their sub-par performances.

The Asantehene made it clear that no team member works for anyone other than him.

As a result, he said that team members should put their differences aside and support the group since he won’t allow them to fail while he is in charge.

“I am expecting something better from you,” the King is quoted as saying in a club statement.

“Prove to me that you are capable and if the coach is the problem, then I will take a decision on him. But for now, make sure you go and play and win.”

This weekend, the Porcupine Warriors will take on league leaders FC Samartex in Matchday 27.

A victory for the Warriors will move them up the table in the quest for a respectable spot on the log.
