Head Coach of the Sudanese national team James Kwesi Appiah is plotting the scalp of his former team, the Black Stars, as they face off again in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Sudan and the Black Stars played a goalless draw against the Falcons of Jediane at the Accra Sports Stadium last Thursday.

Black Stars stopped at home by Kwesi Appiah’s Sudan in AFCON 2025 qualifier

It was a frustrating game for the hosts as they missed several chances in attempts to break the deadlock.

The results kept Ghana winless in the qualifiers after three games.

Ahead of the fourth game, against Sudan in Group F, coach Appiah, who captained and coached the Black Stars in the past, has conceded that the return leg will be a difficult encounter but has assured Sudanese of victory.

“Ghana versus Sudan was difficult but we managed to fight and had a draw,” he told a Sudanese channel.

”We are now going to play the return leg in Benghazi [Libya]. It is not going to be easy but Insha Allah, we are going to fight and make sure we get a victory for Sudan.”

The match will be played at the Martyrs of February Stadium.

Sudan are currently second and a win will put them in pole position of making it to Morocco for the 2025 AFCON.

Ghana remain third with two points.
