Kofi Koranteng, the 2024 Independent Presidential Hopeful has said it is President Akufo-Addo’s wish to be ousted from office before his tenure ends.

He says that would be the only excuse to blame his abysmal performance on since there would be nothing for him to hold on to after leaving office.

For the lack of such ‘opportunity’ to hold on to, resignation, should have been the president’s anchor according to Mr. Koranteng.

“If I was Nana, I would resign. Nana wish someone removes him by a coup for him to get something to blame his failure on,” he noted.

Speaking on Maakye Tuesday, August 16, 2022, Mr. Koranteng said the answer to saving the economy is within. But because government is not trustworthy, the able citizens have refused to help.

“The answer to saving the country is within. Six companies in Ghana can loan the country $10b but they won’t because they don’t trust the government.”

Meanwhile, he has absolved the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress of blames regarding the retrogressive state of the economy.

Bemoaning the hypocrisy of the NDC who form the Minority in Ghana’s Parliament, he avers the hung nature of the current legislature should have given the Minority the power to subdue the unabating loans government has been taking since it needs their approval before such monies can be taken.

“The NDC is idiocy and so disloyal. They’re hypocritical because they see what the NPP does and approve of it. Aren’t they all in Parliament to approve those loans?,” he asked.

But despite the obvious and evidential exhibition of gross disregard for the progress of the economy, Mr. Koranteng says Ghanaians still go to the polls and vote for the NPP and NDC.

Advancing his lamentations, he was livid how sane people would still go ahead and vote for sick persons (NPP and NDC) to lead them.

“The much worse person is us who always vote for the NPP and NDC. They haven’t done anything wrong because they’ve shown us that’s their plan since. There is something seriously wrong with the person who votes for a sick person,” he noted.

He also called on the traditional authority to help show the NPP and NDC the exit.
