The maiden edition of the Schools Arts Mentorship Programme (SAMP) Train has been held with a call on students to remain disciplined in all their endeavours.
The advice w as given by a renowned surgeon and poet, Prof Lade Wosornu during the programme on July 17.
SAMP is a programme that targets the development of the creative arts space in the country. It is a well-planned programme dedicated to filling an important gap that exists in the creative arts ecosystem in Ghana—between budding artists and established/successful artists.
Addressing the students, Prof Wosornu encouraged them to “remain determined in their chosen field of interest.”
“It takes discipline and resilience to get to the top,” he stated.
The maiden edition was held with students of Seeds After The Order of Christ Academy (SATOC).
It was a beautiful experience connecting a budding generation of creatives with a poet and author whose works they have read in class for years
The programme featured infographic slide presentation of selected poems of Professor Ladé Wosornu, review and performances of the poems, one-on-one engagement with the legendary professor on issues regarding his writing abilities/successes, life experiences as a creative and astute surgeon as well as guidance to becoming a successful poet-author.
