A former National Democracy Congress (NDC), parliamentary candidate for Amenfi Central, Joana Cudjoe Gyan, has said the party’s leadership will resolve the internal matter that has come up in her constituency.

Madam Cudjoe, who has been restrained from holding herself as the parliamentary candidate for the NDC by a Sekondi High Court has been accused of forging her voter ID and NDC membership cards.

The order of the Court presided over by Justice G. K Gyan-Kontoh, also restrained the National Democratic Congress –second defendant in the suit –from allowing Madam Cudjoe Gyan to be held out, dealt with in any way, recognised as the duly elected NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Amenfi Central.

When OnuaOnline contacted Madam Cudjoe for her take on the issue, she said the development is an internal party issue and would leave it to the national leadership to deal with it.

“Ignore for now. For now I don’t want to have anything to say about it because it is an internal party issue and I will prefer that they deal with the national communications team,” she stated.

The order for an injunction, however, stated that the Applicants shall file an undertaking to pay damages by way of compensation to the Respondent if it turns out eventually that the Applicants, in fact, are not entitled to the order of injunction so required.
