The entire Jomoro Constituency of the Western Region have been thrown into the state of mourning after two assembly members who were expected to vote on Monday, April 28, 2025, to confirm the Municipal Chief Executive nominee lost their lives in an accident.

They are Francis Armoh of Alaboale Electoral Area and Ransford Nana Otuo Darko of Elubo West Electoral Area.

The two assembly members were on a motorbike heading home after a meeting on the confirmation of the MCE when their motorbike collided with a Toyota Rav 4 and died instantly.

Currently, the confirmation of the MCE nominee had to be put on hold till next week.

The Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency, Dorcas Affo-Toffey and the entire members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Constituency, regional and national have visited and commiserated with the bereaved families. She subsequently posted the sad news on her X page.

Speaking to Onua News in an interview, the Jomoro NDC Communications Officer, Lenry Nyamekeh said they were from Tikobo No. 1 heading to their various homes but in the middle of the road, the Toyota Rav 4 collided with the motorbike.

He said they died instantly because one was trapped under the vehicle while the other somersaulted severally in the process.

Mr. Nyamekeh said the MP, Dorcas Affo-Toofey has been wailing since the incident because these two assembly members were hard working for the NDC and the Constituency.
