The Matchday 2 Ghana Women’s Premier League game between Jonina Ladies and Hasaacas Ladies has been postponed due to a motor accident involving the former.
Jonina Ladies were travelling to Takoradi on Saturday when the accident occurred on the Accra-Takoradi highway.
They were going to face the former champions in the first game of the season at Kobby’s AstroTurf.
The accident has left some of the injured players receiving treatment while their bus is still stuck in the middle road and journey.
After reports came in that the match has been rescheduled to be played on Sunday at 10:00, some of the players, suffering trauma from the crash, have been left unhappy.
Sources close to the team tells Onua Sports that the ladies are yet to recover from the brush with death and so will want a longer period to recover.
“We will need at least one week to recover but the authorities are insisting we play the match [Sunday] morning at 10:00am,” an official told Onua Sports.
“Why are we doing this? They even threatened to cede our points to Hasaacas Ladies if we fail to report on Sunday morning.”
