Black Stars striker Jordan Ayew broke his goal-scoring drought for Crystal Palace FC after many months when his header gave the Eagles the opening goal in their English Premier League game against Brighton & Hove Albion FC.

It was a cross from Michael Oliseh after Brighton’s goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen virtually gifted the striker the ball.

Oliseh’s cross found the head of the Ghanaian who slotted home at the back post for only his second goal this season.

Before the game, Crystal Palace have gone four matches without a single point at Selhurst Park.

Therefore, with barely eight minutes to end normal time, the Eagles were already relishing a first win since September.

But Brighton substitute Danny Welbeck also found his head to a Pascal Gross cross to beat Dean Henderson in post for the equaliser.

The visitors came close to inflicting another defeat on the home side after a Henderson punch came off the head of Welbeck but the ball went wide.

The draw sees Crystal Palace in 15th position with 18 points, nine points behind the eighth-placed Brighton.
